Aichi, March 14,2000 - Today Aichi Steel made its 1999 Environmental Report available to the public on its official homepage.

The report presents the company's policies for protecting the environment in 1998. Specific items of the report include the following: Aichi produces new steel products by melting iron scraps and is therefore essentially a recycling business; the company will present projects for realizing environmentally friendly products; the company is comparing the volume of emissions from all its manufacturing facilities; and, the report itself is published only in Internet form to conserve paper.

A press release was also held today on the report for several media organizations. Aichi Steel plans to release this Environmental Report every year.
