A member of the Toyota group companies |

In 1902, “the history of the Toyota Group started when Sakichi Toyoda, the “great inventor of Japan,” invented his epoch-making automatic loom. At that time, this invention was promised a great future of Japan. Later, Sakichi, who established Toyoda Automatic Loom Works Ltd., directed his inventive spirits not only to the automatic looms but also to the automobile industry. He therefore urged Kiichiro, his eldest son (the founder of our Company), to manufacture automobiles domestically as a next-generation business, and Kiichiro accordingly began his research and creation of cars.
In 1934, he established the “Steel Production Department” within Toyoda Automatic Loom Works Ltd. for the purpose of the research and development of “specialty steel,” which was essential to the domestic manufacture of an automobile from the engine to the driving parts. It was beginning of Aichi Steel. In 1940, the Steel Production Department spun off from Toyoda Automatic Loom Works Ltd. and “Toyoda Steel Works, Ltd.” was inaugurated, and now the name was changed to “Aichi Steel Corporation”.
Currently, Aichi Steel Corporation works closely with Toyota Group companies, which play active in a wide variety of industrial fields with the automobile industry mainly. And we have continuing to grow presence to expand our sales channels to generate further patronage from a broad range of industries related to shipbuilding, railway cars, electronics and more.
Recently, we has been stepped-up development of electro-magnetic products, we have already produced dental magnetic attachments, anisotropic NdFeB bonded magnet, MI sensors, etc. on a commercial basis and we have expanded our business to new fields including medical and information technology fields, attracting significant attention.
