Our roots started with the determination to make steel from scratch for domestically produced popular cars in the early days of the automobile industry.
The remark of Kiichiro Toyoda as our origin “Great cars are made with great steel.” has evolved into the concept that “A great society comes from great materials.”, and such DNA of challenging and creation has been handed down to Aichi Steel Corporation today.

Since it was difficult to obtain high-quality steel suitable for automobile manufacturing at that time, the Steelmaking Department was established within the Toyota Automatic Loom Works. We started research and development on specialty steel and forged parts for automobiles, and established the foundation of automobile manufacturing.

Toyoda’s A1 prototype passenger vehicle equipped with parts manufactured by the Steelmaking Department was completed.

Because car production of Toyota Motor Industry Co., Ltd. (Currently Toyota Motor Corporation) increased and it needed more specialty steels, it built a factory in currently Tokai City, and Toyota Steel Co., Ltd. was launched in 1940. Its company name was changed to Aichi Steel in 1945.

The steel produced by Aichi Steel Corporation is the source of high-quality products that support the automotive industry. We will continue to grow as a specialty steel manufacturer that contributes to the sustainable development of society and the earth by pursuing the unlimited possibilities of materials and creating new value as a source company that supports manufacturing of the Toyota Group.

Aichi Steel Corporation’s manufacturing started from the production of steel required for car manufacturing. We will expand our business not only to forged products and stainless steel but also to a wide range of fields, continuing to open up new possibilities for materials and provide them to society, including electronic components, magnets, dental material, sensors, and iron supplying members for which we make use of our steel manufacturing technologies.

The founding spirit, passion for manufacturing, and lofty aspirations have been handed down continuously as DNA for materials making.
We follow the basics of manufacturing thoroughly and strive to evolve and deepen them.

With the strengths of “integrated forging with steel making processes” that can be performed consistently from materials development to product manufacturing, we are involved from customers’ product development stage and respond to their requests.
