This intelligent electronic compass integrates MI sensor elements for sensing magnetism in three directions and a control IC for operating the sensor into a compact package. The control IC has a dedicated circuit for detecting magnetic signals from three MI elements, an amplifier capable of correcting the origin and sensitivity of each element to an appropriate value, a temperature sensor capable of measuring ambient temperature, a 12-bit AD converter, a serial output circuit of I2C, a constant voltage circuit, and a logic circuit for controlling each circuit.
